Seeking info on this lidded jar.

I came across this item packed in a box, probably bought in the 80's and seek info. Have not been able to identify period or style. Help needed.

I have asked youngsters if they know what a "Bag phone" is and I am met with stares and "a what?"

 

I'm not any kind of youngster but don't think I'd heard of a bag phone before. Google clued me in.

 

Can anyone decipher the maker's marks?

 

I don't know what a "Bag phone" is either, and it has been decades since I was a youngster. I am even old enough to see that this is a sugar bowl.

I believe the mark, or part of it, says Kutani, but I'll tag @916Bulldogs123 for you.

 

It says Nihon Kutani.

It is Kutani
The mark reads Nichi hon "Nippon" = Japan made kutani.
