I found this nice etching at a local thrift store. $10
    Total dimensions 12x14" (29x35cm)
    Image dimensions 6x9" (15x22cm)

I'm having trouble deciphering the signature. It's dated 1925 in lower left with artists monogram. MJF? MTF?
Martes Fuegerhauer? The Internet has yielded nothing.
I opened up the back, and there is no writing inside.
    Any suggestions are welcome!

    Hey, I like that idea!
When I worked in a store, one of our regular customers used to sign his credit card receipt with a little doodle. He made a different doodle every time, like a weird face or squiggly lines.
I don't know how he got away with that.

Because no one checks them unless you call and say it wasn't you and there's a fraud investigation. Signatures are no longer even required by CC companies. I used to sign as "Batman" until even that took too long and now I just draw a line. Legally any mark you make can be considered your signature. What are they gonna do? Give you a dirty look? :wacky:

I think the guy thought he was charming, since we always laughed at his dumb drawings!

    Marta Fliegerbauer?
I don't think the name matters very much in this case. It is a nice impression, probably by a local artist.

    @Debora @Any Jewelry
    Both of you helped immensely!
After some new searches of "Fliegerbauer"
It turns out that the name is actually
    Max Josef(Jos.) Fliegerbauer!

I must also thank @komokwa for seeing "Max" in the first place!
    It was a group effort!

It helped that I know German. I tried to make sense of a German looking name, and it seemed to fit.;)

    I saw Fuegerhauer. Apparently I know nothing...haha!
I'm glad I posted to get some new eyes on that signature.
