Picked this up a short while ago for a deep sea diver. There seem to be plenty of similar things on line but nothing exactly the same. I'm guessing it's some kind of Hindu or Tibetan deity. It stands at 33cm tall. Other than that I really know nothing about it, apart than it has been nibbled by woodworm at some point.

Yes, he is Balinese, nice find. He is a pedanda, or Hindu high priest. Probably 1960s-70s.
This type of statue was originally made for a temple, but many are now made for sale.

Is there a hole in his right hand, can he hold something?

Okay great. Thanks for the info. Was wondering whether it was a souvenir piece or not.

    No hole in his hand

If there had been a hole in his hand, he would have held something or be able to hold something.
Larger statues are sometimes keris holders. Like umbrella stands, but for keris (daggers).;)
