Featured Big Glass Bird

    I bought this at auction today as, although ceramics are my thing and I know little about glass, I felt that it is very fine.

    It stands over 26cm tall and weighs almost 2 kilos

    No marks or labels.

    Is this Murano? Could it be a paperweight?

    I don't know anything about glass, but am curious what the bird is sitting on? Thoughts?

    That shaped perch, for lack of a better word, doesn't seem uncommon.

    Sculpture rather than weight. Decent base. If you’re not on Murano Glass Collective on Facebook, join it and ask. They’re very good on distinguishing Murano made from others.

    Oooo I love that ! I passed on my Murano animals to my niece but Id gladly make room for that one.

    The MGC group is way better than the larger ones, and has some Murano glassmakers on it.
