I found these 2 paintings yesterday while at a local thrift store. The first I think may be a student work, but at first reminded me of a Chagall? Is it a student piece?
If not can anyone tell what the signature says?

The 2nd is a watercolor but again I can not seem to make out/find the artist's signature - can anyone tell who the artist is?

    Thank you!

I thought it might be a drawing! Would have to take out of frame to be sure.

Found a Leo Roth family in a kibbutz (different scene) described as watercolor on print?

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

That's what the translation said a little below the image on the link that @Kronos posted....if you hit 'translate' that is!! It also said it went unsold.....so you may have IT!

If you compare the watercolor splotches, you will see they are different..... so another copy. Assume aoriginal by the artist but, without having it in hand, hard to say.

Ha, the first piece looks like an artist, the second looks like an amateur. Meaning, the first has deliberate thought-out abstraction, following known artistic movement style. The second is clearly going for more realism (or fantastical ideal), but the anatomy of the neck, torso and arm area is wrong. Look for the intent of the art, what choices were made, and figure out if the artist did something "wrong" as an intentional choice....or an untrained accident. Not the end-all-be-all of artistic assessment of course, but it helps as a start.

I also see "Donata" or "Donato" in the '98 signature.
