What is interesting is that the bottom has been painted on each. Are those markings original to the vase? Or do I have some sort of spurious mystery? THANKS :)

Are the marks on some white stuff that is covering the base? Looks like paint?

I suspect that the marks should be viewed the other way around.

Bakers is right, the mark is shown upside down. It's 川製 角田 (Kawa-sei Tsunoda) or (Kawasaki Kakuda). Kind of odd they are on paint though. Characterisation style is Japanese, but an odd form to be found on Imari. So not sure, sorry.

I wonder if the bottom was repainted. Looks like Japanese Imari.
