IMG_2619.jpeg IMG_2618.jpeg IMG_2620.jpeg IMG_2621.jpeg IMG_2622.jpeg I bought this odd looking Southwestern style necklace this weekend at a fleamarket. Its not really my style with that (ugly!) faux turquoise, but I couldn't leave it behind for the price they were asking.
Its very short and the clasp doesn't seem to be original, so maybe it is missing some links?
Does anyone have an idea about who made it?
I think I read: JP Sterling
    Thanks for your opinion!

Het wint niet echt een schoonheidsprijs, hè.:playful:
    A valid consideration.:)
The clasp looks original to me, but I don't have it in hand. Given the positioning of the loops of the focal pendant, it could be meant as a choker, with the focal piece in the centre of the neck.

    Looks like it could be.
I don't know why the mark is on the Amerindien site without them adding that it isn't NA. It is a non-Native Californian company.

I need help: thank you very much for your reply. It could very well be the Pacific Jewelry Company.
We dont see that many SW-style jewelry here in Europe.
AJ: uhu...ugly/but silver and cheap...cheap won :hilarious:

    Nice!:)
The turquoise pendant is SW, could be Navajo. Does it have a mark?

AJ yes indeed, its signed 'Vance', which could be Vance Chamea. The brooch is a Lea Stein. I love her work.
A nice Kupittaan Kulta Finnish pendant...and some Old Flemish

That’s a lovely Lea Stein. I agree on that leaf and turquoise pendant, I’ve some similar.

I saw the Lea Stein and have to admit to wondering whodunnit; we don't see much of it here. I'd love to see a full picture of the carnelian pendant; I'd have nabbed Finnish silver so fast....

It seems to be, I see both 'VANCE C' and 'VANCE' attributed to Vance Cheama.
I had never heard of him, but the Cheamas are a Zuni family of lapidarists and jewellery makers. He is probably related.

Evelyn, here is the carnelian pendant.
There were a few people aggressively taking all they saw and I just quietly stood next to them and politely went on with my own business...
I was so proud of myself! Normally I would have just stepped aside...I really hate people behaving like that...
This one was not looking like gold so it didn't interest them as much.

Lovely, northern Modernist, Finland in this case. I'll see if I can tweak and find the marks on the left.
Very good, and it paid off. Be strong, but on your own terms. I am proud of you too!:kiss:

    AJ, I know, right!
My girls have autism and they always love to fiddle with their jewels.
You don't even have to be autistic to play around with rings, necklaces etc.
Those seventies modernist designers really had a good eye on these things.

Hmmm. Maybe that explains me? :D:D:D I'd have nabbed that too while the gold hunters were squabbling. Odds are what they found were some lightweight cwap earrings and a junky chain or two.
