ASIAN PRISON SHIV? Or Just My Wild Imagination?

Measures about 8 inches long. There are what looks like Asian lettering on one side. I am assuming this was just a blacksmith forging his knife, went to lunch and forgot to finish it? I photographed the mark both ways since one will be upside down

knives are made like this all the time......

 

As Komo has said, if you go to any renaissance festival, there will be loads of stalls selling knives like this. And like this one, many are made in India or Pakistan etc., they make them for a fraction of the cost of one made here. This one is rather crude in the extreme, and is sort of based on a Viking type knife, usually termed a 'womans knife' in Viking circles.
This is one of mine, intentionally left a bit crude, but a more true Viking period style, but a bit more refined, hopefully.

I have seen knife fork and spoon sets, also made in India, with exactly the same handles as the knife in the original post.

The world is changin' Komo, today it is probably OK to take in the knife, but you'd probably have to smuggle in the cake in case there is a knife or file in it!
