Is this piece a Delft authentic or reproduction? How old would it be? Bought in the Netherlands at a thrift store. The mark at the bottom says just "Delft Holland".

    Thank you.

It says Delfts with an s at the end. That is a different maker than the famous one, but it is not a reproduction.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Enlarged to 2X, but to me, looks to be a fairly "sloppy"(???) signature....and I most definitely hope I'm wrong, as it's a lovely piece!!!

Welcome from the sunny south of the Netherlands, Natalia.
You have a cute tea strainer set there, but nowadays it isn't considered safe to use for tea.:nailbiting:;)
It is not a reproduction, but as Bakers pointed out, it is not by the most famous Delfts maker, "de Porceleyne Fles", either.
Since the early 20th century de Porceleyne Fles is also known as Royal Delfts.

Delfts is a Dutch combination of a specific style and a ceramic technique.
There used to be countless Delfts makers, although not all of them in Delft. Traditionally only makers in Delft marked their ware "Delfts", others marked it "Delft", without the 's'. Over time that rule was ignored by some makers.

There are still a few makers left, and again, not all of them in Delft. Most of them mark their ceramics "Delfts Holland", plus their own mark.
Because it is only marked "Delfts Holland" it is difficult to say who made yours, but it would have been one of the minor makers.
    My guess is 1930s-40s.

I can't really add anything I'm afraid though I would be interested in knowing why it's not considered safe for tea. (not that I use this type of strainer).

Generally the Dutch seem very good at marking their Delftware with names of the maker. Without a specific factory/maker, I usually assume its something made as a souvenir and as such, probably of lesser quality/value. Assumptions can be wrong of course.

I read somewhere that these cheap tin strainers contained lead, because it was cheaper than tin. Food quality Dutch tin has a quality mark.

    Exactly!
Nowadays there is food safety control etc, but these were made in the 30s-40s, when cost had to be low and not much was controlled.
