This jar is unsigned, but it sure looks to me like the work of Judy Cranmer...

Got it for a great price at an estate sale--- 50% off on Sundays!

I've got a lot of Cranmer, and would agree this looks a bit outside her normal work. There are a number of similarities though. Cranmer did sometimes add broad swaths of a glossy brown, and she did sometimes do designs that diverge from her norm. The color of clay used also varied a bit from time to time.I've got some where there are designs with large combinations of forms that are not any particular creature.
This one is more 'in the negative" than most of hers, but I'll take a close look at some of mine and see if I can find a match for the mouth treatment in yours.
I'll add a few photos for comparison - not mine, but I'll see if I have any comparables in my collection.

This is one of mine - I love the abstraction - still correct NW Coast native lines, but in an elegant simplicity of form.

Thanks for the comments-- I love that last one!

I also think the clay and perhaps also the technique on the one I have look different from these by Judy Cranmer.

I just started a new thread on the Tribal board since this might be worth more more pics.

Well...I did spend $300...but I think I did well. Edwardian? 14k, platinum?, and MOP cufflinks and tuxedo stud set. One cufflink has a tiny pinpoint ding on the back. Diamonds are mine cut, sparkle like crazy.

I also bought four handbags in a thrift for $34. Two Calvin Kleins, two B. Makowsky. The Calvin tote has wear, the other is NWOT. The Bs are leather, great shape. I opened a small section in an eclectic antique/whatever store, too,so they go in there!

I am not a handbag person, but since I have a small little selling spot, I will put the three good ones in there.

I think this counts as a find; an unusual Judy Cranmer, with red and green used in addition to her normal black; and dated 1990. 13" in diameter, and 7-8" tall.

Marko I am not a handbag person either. But awhile back I read that his bags were very well made and he stopped making them to instead deal in real estate.
I remember him on the Home Shopping Channel.

They are lovely, but I only use a very specific type of shoulder bag. The strap has to be a certain thickness/width, it has to zipper, it has to be a rectangular envelope style, only black. I am picky.

I am very picky too. Mine needs to have lots of compartments for all my stuff and have zippers. I like the bucket style with dividers.
