"Catalina Island Conservancy Catalina Buffalo” Bronze Sculpture ~ Any Info?

Hi, and thank you in advance for your kindness, time, and help. This sculpture stands about 7” tall x 7” long x 3 1/2” wide. It is made of bronze or some other non-ferrous (non-magnetic) metal, but possibly resin? With the base it weighs in at a hefty 4 pounds. I cannot make out the signature, but it seems to be “Seisborg”. It is very detailed and has a lovely patina. Any info on the artist? I’m finding no info no matter which way I look, and the price range for such sculptures is very, very wide. I thank you, again! Sincerely, Tony

Hi, and thank you for your help. I was unable to reach anyone there in many attempts. I was hoping someone here recognized the signature of the sculptor, or had some idea of its value.

 

Other possible interpretations of the signature include Seisberg and Seisbera. Nothing found that way. I'm not positive about the first letter, but couldn't think of another possibility besides S. It's likely to be somebody contemporary, but if you can't reach the two offices of the Conservancy in Avalon, CA and Long Beach, CA, finding this will be very difficult.

Near the bottom of this page are addresses and phone numbers of the two offices. Which I think you already tried.

I've searched several variations of the name and come up blank. I guess a good side of that is that there must not be a lot of these out there. You might try asking the Catalina Art Association https://www.facebook.com/catalinaart
