My wife thinks it looks like a giant ear.

The 'giant ear' reference sounds like a line out of a MCM 1950's poetry slam-'Man,I heard a giant ear calling out over the Brooklyn Bridge, and Man-nobody heard !'.
Fits in with the Wabi Sabi Zazen Shibui Beatnik motif.

At my age, I'm the living embodiment of wabi-sabi! There's an apocryphal story about the medieval monks who lettered and illuminated books all those years ago. They saying is that they would purposely make some mistake/flaw/imperfection in their work because only God is perfect. ;):D

Moloch whose love is endless oil and stone! Moloch whose soul is electricity and banks! Moloch whose poverty is the specter of genius! Moloch whose fate is a cloud of sexless hydrogen! Moloch whose name is the Mind! Moloch in whom I sit lonely! Moloch in whom I dream Angels! Crazy in Moloch!
