I don't usually go to the thrift store on Sat. because I have my estate/garage sale then, but I had to take some stuff to the post office that sold on eBay & decided to stop by, but am I glad I did!
I wanted to show you guys my new finds - I'm trying to look for more higher end stuff and not keep getting fooled by Chinese factory paintings!

I never knew the Prince of Wales (now King of England) Charles was a established & well known artist/painter until I found a A/P (artist proof) lithograph of one of his watercolors at the store!
And besides being in a beautiful presentation box - it is hand signed by the then Prince of Wales and now King of England!
And it actually is nice work.
    Any thoughts on it?

I also found a Singer Featherweight 221 and a bronze statue that's been made into a fountain.

Is the statue bronze? (the bottom doesn't look like it)

PS - This is the Singer sewing machine I also found - wiped it down, plugged it in & it runs great!

It sure wants to be. I know at least three quilters who'd have queued up to get at the Featherweight. I always knew His Majesty painted a bit, and that he wasn't half bad. Better than I'll ever be, for sure.

Ooooh a featherweight has long been on my wish list! I simply can't justify the expense but always hope to find one cheap... but it hasn't happened in the fifteen years I've been looking.
Does it have the attachments and case?

No just the machine & power pedal - but for $25 I took a chance because even if it didn't work I knew it was worth more selling as parts or repair.

I found one a few years ago for US$50. A friend had been looking for one. Made a quick call to make sure she hadn't found one, and at that price with the case and bits...she told me to hustle it out the door. Which I did.

Really nice finds! That print image isn't bad. Who knew he took the time.

That statue doesn't look the least bit Art Nouveau to me, but she's a good size so would go for a decent price I suspect. I really enjoy the butt shot that auction house knew we needed. :hilarious: I too gather my water without pants on, but usually indoors...

Last one I had with case & extras I sold on eBay for $500 - I'd just missed the white version which is even more valuable!

That was my first response too (and there is 1 on 1st dibs that they are asking $7,000), but auction sales showed the most one of his lithos sold for was $2,000 (still nothing to complain about for a $50 investment!)

Regarding the lithograph, yours says it's 8/20 while the one in MOS link says 24/100. What does that mean? More than one printing?

Regarding the bronze, couldn't there be more than one of these made? Your last post implies only one available. ??

In total agreement. The statue doesn't look the slightest bit Art Nouveau. I would say 1970s or later. When they say "20th Century" I suppose that fits. But agree it's a decent size, so someone should want it.

Interesting that the two have different signatures.

Yeah I end up seeing Moreau signed on things that clearly aren't the same style as his? Or are an interpretation of his actual works? It's always difficult to research authentic Moreau.

Ola402 - mine is a artist proof - 1 of 20 - and the other is the reg. edition (I thought it was 20 but if only 100 even better!).

As for the statue, I didn't say it was the only one; I thought it might be the one from Kodner because they are very close to me in Miami, I didn't think there were that many made into a fountain and I couldn't any other like it except the Kodner auction.
