My sister gave me 2 boxes of fabrics and I stuck them away for a while. When I finally got them out, there were some expensive flour sacks in them.

Things I left behind today and maybe should have nabbed: the fabric box. I can still remember shipping 1930s printed flour sacks to Japan. They'd been unstitched but never reused. Quilters everywhere covet them, and there have been quilters in Japan since before the Meiji era.

I think some of the ones I sold went to Japan too.

It wouldn't surprise me, back before shipping went beserk and we still had international sales.

I had something unusual thrown into a live auction lot I bought this week. These came to me in tacky white frames and just looked so much better after the frames were removed. I also found a signature under the frames. They're porcelain and 9 1/2" by 7".

Master painter Margaret Surber (American, 1913-2001). Ms. Surber painted and taught for over 50 years, and was the President of the International Porcelain Art Teachers organization in 1968.

I find that a lot of my international sales are going through shippers. They must collect lots of shipments together and reduce the cost.

Bust of a woman, marked WA 96. No idea the maker (and likely never will)

Picked up 6 of these Fostoria Trojan champagne glass in the topaz color for 25 cents each at the thrift store. There was also a small footed matching tumbler that I also picked up. Looks like this is one pattern that actually sells.

Thank you— wish I knew (no expert on glazes &tc), but she was found in Leith where potters are ten a penny so something local is my guess :joyful:

Mexican "poison" ring with 60s -ish marks.

They updated MS Photos on me and I'm still trying to figure out what they did to me. Found this ring in the $10 box this weekend.
