Has anyone any idea what these might be? They appear to be hand painted and have some letters and numbers on the foot rims.

I'm going to guess continental European, possibly French, in the style some collectors call old Paris porcelain. You don't give the size but these might be mantel vases. A closeup of the art work might tell if it's hand painted or decaled but it may also be a hand colored stencil. I don't recognize the mark but, in general, it is difficult to trace these types of vases back to a particular manufacturer.

Hi there. I often forget to add dimensions as someone once told me size is not important. They are 25 cm tall. Please find attached closer photos. Hopefully these will have enough definition for you to tell. Quite possibly hand painted over transfer back ground. When I first looked at the edge of the border I thought you could see brush smudging but this effect may have been achieved with a transfer.

I glad you like them. I'm still wondering why I bought them. I just went into a buying frenzy. I had to put the booths real old willow full dinner service back on the table after bagging it up, as I ran out of money. I would have made a fair bit out of it but in a way I was glad as I really didnt fancy carrying the weight home on the bus. I already have a back injury.

Thank you for adding the close up pictures. There is a lot more hand painted detail there than I originally thought. I'm leaning towards stencil with hand painted accents. Really quite lovely despite the damage.

I agree with continental. Probably c1900 . Hope you didn't pay too much as the condition is not good - worn gilding is a put off. If these were in our local auction house I would expect them to fetch less than £20

Thanks for the info John. I bought a job lot from a stall. I got a shopping basket full for £60 so hard to say what these cost pro rata. All in all I got 23 items so leeway for a profit still.
