    Not snakes but lizards.
I posted this one before, a pre-1940 bakelite disc trade necklace with an Ashanti bronze proverb pendant of crossed lizards (there is a name for these pendants:banghead:) :

Antique Indonesian silver double headed snake bracelet, with ruby eyes and glass inlay along the necks. Probably from Java.

Thank you. It is sweet, really, with a bit of humour. Lovely detail too.

While we're waiting for other snake jewellery, another Dutch one. A sweet Art Deco snake bangle by P. van Oostrom, Schoonhoven.
The decoration on the head shows Javanese influence, which was seen a lot in Dutch crafts of the period:

I almost forgot this little fellow, he s actually my daughter's.
When we visited the Jakob Bengel museum in Idar Oberstein 2 years ago, the really nice older guide made us these 2 headed snake bangles to show how the original factory's machines are still operational. (My boy loved all the technical explanations!).
Me and the girls were each gifted one bangle that the older guide
made on the spot for us.
This little fellow is not old or valuable, but he is still well loved and he gets a lot of use by my youngest daughter.
Technically he s a true Jakob Bengel though :D IMG_1964.jpeg

    That is so sweet!
He is.:smug: Not of the period, but made on the original machines.

Balinese two snakes bracelet by Ardhana, silver with rubies. Seller's pics, they clearly had trouble "catching the snakes":

This badly damaged snake "thingy" (maybe a belt, doesn't sit well as a necklace) lives on a lamp in my salon:playful:

And looks very much at home there.;)
A belt is likely, and a beauty. The lamp base too, love the glaze.:)

    Glad you think same:)
The lamp is a family heirloom, Chinese, I always loved it and that wonderful crackling deep blue!
And it was on the nightstand of my mother, certainly the last thing she saw before passing:arghh:

Oh, kyra, I'm so sorry. But to look at something so beautiful just before you leave this world is precious. And I hope this lamp is even more precious to you because of it.

    All these beautiful snakes!
I feel like I need some silver snake bangles desperately now!
Kyratango, I love your celadon lamp base! The snake belt really fits there.
Sorry to hear from your mom.
Only one thing in life is sure, and its that we will all die eventually.
The snake on your lamp is very symbolic. Excellent choice.
