IMG_1872.jpeg IMG_1873.jpeg IMG_1874.jpeg I bought this ring online and it came in a small lot from the Netherlands.
I bought the lot for this ring specifically, its so unusual!
Its marked with the Dutch sword (835) and there is a small mark in the inside also, but I can't figure it out. Looks like a frying pan? Or a hedgehog maybe?
The ring is modernist in style, but who knows, it could have been made yesterday also.
When I went home with my newly arrived ring-lot I decided to go to a kringwinkel on the way home, and look what was waiting for me for 4€? This really nice heavy silver modernist bange! It was really dirty though...I still have some cleaning to do. It even looks brutalist to me.
Again, it is marked but I cant even decipher one of the two marks. Does it say: 835 and ...ria? Or does it say 925 and...?
    No clue.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thank you

It is lovely. Modernist 'swirly' jewellery is always nice.
835 means it is very likely Modernist period, 1970s or so. Later most Dutch silversmiths switched to 925, which was already a legal fineness anyway.
My favourite of the two, love it.
    Yes, it is Brutalist.:woot:
    I think 925.

AJ, thank you for your quick reply. I saw a ring similar to mine, still beeing sold on B O L dot com so I wasn't sure about its age.
Yes, the bangle is really nice. Love brutalist jewelry!
    I m on a good jewelry roll.
We had really bad luck with our car 2 weeks ago (broke down badly on route to our holiday destination so our holiday was completely ruined...we had to return home without even reaching the destination, pay for the repair and we decided to 'just' sell and buy a new car...unexpectedly)...call me crazy but I feel like the universe gifts me with some nice bling lately in return for the bad times.:wacky:

Probably a copy, or 'in the style of', and probably .925. And it may have had a generic 925 mark instead of a proper sword mark.
    I am so sorry, Dessert.:(
At least you get some compensation.:)

Love that bracelet! Wow! Don't over clean (you know this already I'm sure so please forgive me), the dark areas are part of the charm and seem to add to the design. If I found something like that I would buy it so quick they would wonder what was wrong with me.

AJ, indeed, the other ring was 925 and the back was different, probably 'in the style of'.
About our crazy holidays trip: ah well, these things happen. (I needed a week alone with my family to mentally give it all a place). At least we have a new safe car coming soon.
I do feel like I still deserve some more bling though! :cat:

Satin, thank you very much for your reply.
I bought the bracelet together with some celluloid brooches and 2 Swatch watches for 1€ (I normally never find things in this Kringwinkel).
    Sometimes you just get lucky.
Indeed the black is part of the design. Don't worry, I only clean mildly with a sunshine cloth and nothing else.

All girls deserve bling. I always seem to find the best stuff when I'm feeling lousy. Being forced to unexpectedly buy a new car counts.

So do boys, but most of them don't realize it.:(

Some figure it out, but most don't realize men often wore more than women at one point.

AJ, I wouldn't appreciate my hubby wearing my bling.
He will have to get his own:rolleyes:
Sometimes I do buy things he gets to wear. He s very handsome with some nice bracelets, an earring, a watch and some rings:D
He doesn't like wearing all at once though.
I m the Christmas tree of the family.
