This is more of a show and tell rather than a real questionnaire, but I just can't help it! I love this kind of wood pattern and color, love that it comes in such a local species of tree!

I only have a question, as to its approximate age? I have no real expectations, but I saw a couple of almost identical ones on various listings that dated it to the Deco period, or to the 60s. They also wanted a lot more than the 10 I paid for it.

Just look at that color

Probably not horribly old, but it's a pretty thing.

Thank you! Whatever its age I'm happy with it, the listings just made me question it. It is a very pretty thing indeed, I'm eclectic with a tendency to old world, so I think this will be a fun addition to my collection of decor and functional items for my own home.

These prices though! Though I'm not sure Etsy is to be trusted.

The Spanish web site says these pitchers can be used to serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. I might do a little taste test before using yours with guests just to make sure there's no transfered taste.

Not so concerned about safety as taste.

Might also be a tad heavy when filled.

That's quite true, thankfully it doesn't hold much, just enough for a glass or two of water perhaps.

I’ve seen these in Spain. There used to be entire shops given over to all sorts of household items made of olive wood, but they seem to have rather vanished. Seventies sounds right to me.

If taste is a concern, just serve martinis. :)
