I am thinking this is probably just a souvenir piece. There is a large whole on the bottom and the top does not come off. Has anyone seen one like this. Is it Asian or central america? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!! IMG_0412.JPG IMG_0413.JPG IMG_0414.JPG IMG_0415.JPG IMG_0416.JPG .

I wonder if it was designed as a type of inhaler, where the pot sat on a stand with a burner and tray of nasal clearing substance to be inhaled through the spout. The raffia wrapped body would permit the user to grasp the pot to avoid burning the hands.

I would think it was a two piece item. Just the top.

No, it's a cadogan, sometimes called a puzzle teapot. You fill upside down.

I thought maybe an incense burner, but cadogan pot is probably more like it. I have not seen anything similar though.
