chinese rice grain rice bowls

    I am familiar with this technique because Arabia Pottery of Finland did it - my understanding is that the cut outs are so difficult that 9 out of 10 of these break in the manufacturing... the process is called rice grain or rice eye - but here is a chinese example - blue and white hand painted - semi contemporary I think - has 4 character mark - I am posting it both ways because I don't know which way is up or dowl lol - appreciate any help... rice.jpg rice2.jpg rice3.jpg rice4.jpg

    If Japanese: Miso soup.

    I thought it was for food, but it seems to be a gaiwan, for Chinese tea brewing.
