Yep, the difference between the town I sold them in and the town where I bought them today is about 30 minutes.

I absolutely could not shop there. He wouldnt get but one chance to pull that crap with me. In all my years of buying,Ive only had that happen to me one time. With a bag full of hallmarked English silver priced at $20. My fault because I excitedly told my friend about it and someone over heard and told the *itch that was running the sale. When I went to pay she snatched them and said "those are mispriced" .I was furious but taught me to keep my mouth shut !

Her work was copied onto porcelain left and right at one point. Hers and Fragonard's.

I have the same ring holder here, holding jewelry.

Interesting. Fragonard, I knew. But had never heard of her.

Fascinating ! Thank you all so much ! I wonder how they were able to copy her work ? Im sure there was still some family when these were made. Or was that not a thing then ? So do we think its Czech ? German ? any guesses ? I also thought, with the art nouveau touches that it was made 1890s ?

She was an 18th century artist. No copyright. I'd think German, but I'm no expert and that iridescent finish was often Czech.

i recently found this old rocking chair. i sent pics to Stickley but they don't believe it's a Stickley chair. i've been trying to register with this site to post for the last week and i keep getting an error message. anyway, i was hoping someone out there might know something about who the manufacturer might be. there are absolutely no marks to be found.

No picture, just a red X. Welcome, btw. There are instructions for posting pix to the board. It barfs on the big ones, and click/drag transfers generally don't work. There's a link somewhere to the instructions.

Hi. New to the forum. Picked this lamp up recently. Cannot find any information or pictures about it. Anybody have an idea on what it is?

    Much appreciated! :)

Odd thing. You might want to start a new thread about it to get more eyes on it. Also, choose the full picture option when posting so it shows directly in the thread.

That said, based on what I see, maybe 50s-60s for the shade. Not sure that shade goes with that lamp base and the latter may not be as old as the shade. Maybe Italian or American with Italian parts. Probably need more pics, particularly of sockets and plug.
