hi everyone. i'm new to this board but i'm very glad to find it as i do often have antiques that i need help with identifying. a case in point is this little rocker. as you can see it looks an awful lot like an old Stickley's spindle back. there are absolutely no marks underneath. i've looked everywhere for the little decal. i tried contacting Stickley, they told me it's "very similar" but not a Stickley. the truth is, i'm still not convinced. Stickley's earliest work wouldn't have a decal anyway. my understanding is they used a paper label which was glued to the wood. anyway, the piece is doweled in all of the right places as you can see. it also stands the same height, just under 3 ft tall. it really is very well made. any help anyone can offer with identifying the maker would be greatly appreciated.

welcome to the forum Jim:) @Aquitaine put this together to help new members post photos

You might want to copy and save this for reference for a while....it helps when you're new!!!

For Future reference, when posting images:

Each image MUST be UNDER 1 MB....
There are instructions on site here on how to reduce the size of your image, if that is the problem......you are allowed up to 10 images per post!!! Here are some links to the instructions:

Try emailing them to yourself as "medium" size, they should then be under 1 MB!

    If on the computer:

As an added note, when you have your photos LISTED, BUT BEFORE you hit POST, please click on the wording that says to "INSERT EVERY IMAGE AS FULL IMAGE" !! That way, we're not clicking on little thumbnails, but get to see all of the images full sized!! Thanks! Remember, it takes a bit for MOST new members to get the hang of it, but it's really quite simple once you get used to it!!!" If you still have questions, DON'T hesitate to ASK!!!!

thank you for that link. i just contacted the people who have that website. the detail that i haven't been able to see in any of the pictures online is those little cut in corners in the two front vertical post of the chair that accommodate the seat frame. that detail is identical on my chair as well. you're right the two chairs are the same, aside from the seat.
