Hello, I'm a newbie. I bought this plate as I loved the design. Can anyone help with identification please? It has a bluish tinge and some slight holes in the glaze. There is gold on it but lots has rubbed off. It’s the size of a side plate. Thank you

It's Japanese Kutani ware painted in the Satsuma style, from the period when the economy was struggling and manufacturers had to diversify to try and keep going. Sometimes these items were porcelain blanks painted by Satsuma artists, and others were painted in the Kutani region in the Satsuma style. Dates around 1920-30. The mark is too rubbed to translate. If it's very thin and translucent the body type is called eggshell porcelain.

Thank you so much. It is very thin so maybe it is eggshell porcelain. I bought two of them which are both different. Do you think it is hand painted?

Yes, they are usually entirely hand painted. A few later ones had print outlines but that's not common.
