Looks like Tribal art to me, although the junkies would find them anywhere.

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

    they're already posted here!!
you're going to make 3 more separate threads....???
    Why ?

    None have any tribal affiliation..
they look beaded, but could have been made by anyone with a loom kit...that were popular in the 50's..60's . 70's...80's....

it's possible that the swastika is earlier.......

Wow...I'm really sorry to have stirred your wrath, komo.
I'm pretty sure the bottom one, with hakenkreuz symbols, is older than the other two, based on its condition when I acquired it, in the 90's.
I would have asked about the symbols an' colors...not about their age...but you've been sufficiently outraged to warn me away any such inconsiderate intrusion here.
    Your attitude is showing, imo.

That's the one that had me wondering if they were real. The whirling log was NOT a popular motif after WWII. Not sure a kids' kit would have included it.

I think I actually had that kit at some point. Didn't use it, but had it.

    4 – Multiple posts and/or threads.

If you have a question, please, first consider the appropriate section of the forum to place your question. If you don’t know, that’s fine, just the pick the one you think is best. However, it is only necessary to ask your question or make your comment ONCE ! Please do not make multiple posts or threads on the same subject, even if they are in different areas or forum sections. Somebody will see your question or comment no matter where you put it and provide an answer if they can.

    your wrath, komo.
    Your attitude

...nothing in my post is personal................. yours.....not so much!

I'm sorry to have offended your better sensibilities............ for now,

    but that can change...

Trix are for kids ! :hilarious:

these items were made....by natives and non natives alike...

the older ones ( native hand made one's.....)would likely have used older materials like sinew and older bead colors and rougher leather.............so like I posted the whirling logs...may be older than the other two..

Whit, I think komo's tone stems from his love of and passion for Native American art and culture, and his long fight against things being passed off as Native that aren't.
I know you weren't trying to do that, you were just wondering. But your question implied that you thought them worthy of the same attention NA items deserve.

I don't mean to escalate the tone of this thread, but this is worth considering too:
I think it is better for the tone of the forum if we don't use a German term with a negative connotation for an item if there are more appropriate names. In this case it is an ancient sun symbol that is known by several other names. Ruth used one, 'whirling log', often used when referring to the sun symbol in NA art. (Thank you Ruth.) Others are swastika and fylfot.

I think 'broken sun wheel" or some such gets used too. The swastika whirls the other direction.

Hindu and Buddhist swastikas can go both ways.
That vice-versa turning is a remnant of the old Shamanic swastikas, where clockwise was used for a natural evolution, and counter-clockwise was used for a quick result in whatever your intention was. The latter was only to be used by experienced Shamans, who could control the energy flow and the result.

Nazi scumbags being Nazi scumbags.... messed it up for everyone.

Walked into an antique store the other day and found souvenir pins from the 1936 Olympics just sitting there. They were totally unconcerned. Olympic pins that I could barely bring myself to touch because they had that design on them.

I still have my Walco bead loom. I made a lot of bracelets and chokers to sell back in 1967-1070.
