Featured few charity costume pieces

    hi folks

    a few charity shop costume pieces i found today, all about a pound or two

    the giant purple beads are plastic, but thought fun, acrylic ?
    the glass necklace i thought quite nice, vintage italian ?
    the bangle is plated but pretty, i think artificial rubies,

    any thought on any appreciated

    I wonder if the millefiori are missing all the in betweeny spacer beads? Worth restringing if so as the beads are lovely.

    thanks ksw, yeah i think your right, they dont seem to move very well or position right on the string so i bet that is why

    It's not hard to hand-knot, just a bit tedious. Much harder if you wear reading glasses.

    ive found its quite hard to do evey
    its getting those knots in the right place thats hard, there must be a technique for that.

    once the bead is on, its getting that second knot to land in the right place

    Awesome color on those purple stones. Artificial or natural? Either way I like the color.

    To get the knot in the right place i insert embroidery needle ( because blunt end) into the knot and as I pull it tight i use the needle to guide the knot to the spot i want, hold it there and then tighten and pull out the needle. That is how I do knots in embroidery to get them close to the canvas and it would work on necklaces.

    Pretty much. As often as not I use a fingernail instead of a needle, but then to see the knots I just pull my glasses down and off I go.

    The glass beads are quite nice. You don't see that shape every day. Love the black with the gold sparkle aventurine!

    I've seen rectangles but not with the goldstone ends.
