A few things to show, purchased over the last few weeks. All are thrift store finds.

This Blenko water pitcher was $4.00. Has an acid-etched mark on the bottom with a 2005 date. When did they start doing that?

I picked up 8 of these MCM cocktail glasses for $2.00. Perfect condition other than on one where the store sticker removed a bit of the gold

I generally would not buy this but how can you pass it up for $3.00? Large platter, Bordallo Pinheiro from Portugal.

Likewise on this Cambridge 14" Caprice platter (round but photo makes it look oval). Only $3.00 and bought same day and place as above.

This 9" Czech vase was $4.00.

This little teapot is by local potter, Gary Beaumont. Bought for $3.00.

    Continued.....

This Royal Doulton dinner plate was only $2.00.

These Roseville plaques were $5.00 each. Not really a pair, as such.

This Lenin comemorative silverplate tea glass holder was $2.00

This set of 4 reverse painted Chinese bottles was $4.00. Look like snuff bottles but there are no spoons

This mola is sewn to a fabric bag. Will probably remove and frame it. Only $2.00.

Forgot one more. This walnut box is about 18" long so fairly big. Looks to be made from old furniture wood due to the carving seen inside the lid. The other half of this carving makes up the bottom and can be seen on the underside. The Lola decal will, unfortunately, have to go .... LOL! Can think it was only $3.00 due to the top damage and it required a bit of gluing.

Brad - that teapot's glaze is one of my few studio pottery weaknesses. I buy molas too, often as rescue projects.

Face, I think. At least that's how they're sold on Amazon. Sounds kinda snake-oily to me, but if so it's at least harmless.

Wowser on the gold finds! Sorry about the omicron. Your sense of taste and smell should return fairly soon. I got the virus at the very, very beginning of it all and did lose my sense of taste and smell for a couple of weeks. I was really sick for a week, too.

When I was a kid, I wished that our BC plates were polar bears like the NWT ones! Good catch!

I found them on Amazon and elsewhere in both "jade" and quartz. Not worth a pile, but I paid almost nothing.

was excited to get this 1950s Japanese Pagoda Style motion lamp, this has the harbour scene cylinder. Bit of wear to the material and a crack on the base but it works and no damage to the cylinder:) I'm a sucker for these lamps:) Last photo is from the Collector's Guide to Motion Lamps

    Great finds all!

Cxgirl, great find on that pagoda lamp. I see that the books says, "not easily found". I've never seen one before. Very cool!

Love the bracelet in your lot, Houseful.

I'll have to get my 'haul' from today and this weekend uploaded. Took pictures of the dachshund as requested, and realized some painted wooden candlesticks might be better than I'd thought. Spent $50 in the gas station; I think I'm covering gas money these days, but that's about it.

Here is something I will lay odds you could easily run across at some estate or garage sale. Personally, I got it along with an assortment of other brands & colors of yarn at the Goodwill. I listed them last night & got up this morning to find that some had bought the lot below. I love the name they gave this color "Evil Beaver". :hilarious::hilarious:

This yarn is made to knit socks & is very fine.

The funny part was the buyer sent me an offer for $10 less at about 8:30 & when I didn't respond to her she paid the full price of $94.99 at about 10:00 which was about the time I was turning on the computer.:smuggrin:

I spent about $40.00 that day on everything I bought so at this point I am swimming in gravy. :smug::smug::smug::smug:

Ok. So i a totally new to anything antique. So far I know its S. Kork and Sons circa 1896 - 1914 i think. Possible repousse landscape/vastle/estrucan? But am having trouble finding anything remotely like the swan with outstretched wings on top. Have seen pine cones, flowers and an albatross among yheir sets. Do not have a complete set i believe. Any help would be appreciated to thanks oh shoot not sure how to put a pic in a reply lol

I didn't know what these were for but bought them because they intrigued me! After a bit of googling it would seem that they are betel boxes. Not sure which Asian country they would have been made in. They seem like silver to me and the areas I've given a quick polish with a silver cloth have come up nicely but I have no way of testing metals.

    S. Kirk & Sons?

Specialty yarns by oddball names (not Lion!) can be worth a mint. I bought some vintage mohair yarn at a church sale once for $2 and sold the lot for $60 with barely a blip. It even had moth damage on some skeins. Bought other yarn later at a ReStore from a yarn shop that went out of business. Made a profit on it handily, and gave my sister whatever didn't sell.
