    Hello,

I need help identifying this vase. I’ve seen other people call it a Tiffany Style Calla Lily Pottery vase. I’ve seen a seller who claimed it was Tiffany. I’ve seen another seller who said it was determined that it is not but is in the style of. I do not think that it is but it is definitely copying the look of Tiffany’s enamel on copper calla lily vase. It definitely has age to it. It measures nearly 13” tall.

I haven’t been able to determine the maker and I can’t find sold comps because there haven’t been any recent sales. I do see that a couple have sold at auction in the past (but can’t view sold amounts).

Does anybody here have any knowledge that they can share about this vase?

    Thanks in advance!

Is there a mark where I have circled? If so, can we see a close up?

Yes, I have seen it called that too. Thank you for mentioning it. I am unable to view the sold comps. I’m tempted to purchase a worthpoint account mainly because of this vase.

I didn’t even see that one sold recently on eBay when I tried searching. But unfortunately it’s just past the 3 months to view the listing.

Tiffany or not, its beauty alone is worth keeping. You're not going to find that everyday. You can selling anytime in the future.

I find it suspicious it isnt marked Tiffany. I didnt think they released anything without their name on it. Then again, until recently I didnt know they did silver plate so...

When trying to research this vase, I did see somebody mention the same thing… that their pieces are always marked.

The original Tiffany piece yours is based on was/is glass (EDIT - not glass, but enamel on copper), not pottery. I had a similar piece to yours based off of another Tiffany piece (peacock vase), the clay, glaze, colors, base treatment all similar to yours. I think signs point to these being modern Asian pieces based off Tiffany pieces that are now found in museums/books.

I have seen that the original piece is enamel on copper. I do not think that this vase is modern though.

Agreed...I was wrong about the original being glass, but the rest of my thoughts remain. That base screams modern asian production to me.

Beautiful piece whoever made it.You might send pics of it to the Treadway & Rago Galleries.
Like any marquee name-you always need to research these pieces carefully & w/an objective state of mind. There's probably been more than one doctoral thesis done on Tiffany.

You can now search 2 years worth of eBay records. Just google eBay Terrapeak. Once on the site you can filter your search from 30 days to 2 years. Pretty great. I often am lazy and just do regular eBay sold searches but this is absolutely the way to go for real data. The one that sold last month went for $125. One sold for $50ish a while back. A recent one went for a few hundred. I didn’t look at the links. Quality and condition could vary and affect the price.

You also have to be careful saying some thing is “like” or “ in the style of” a known brand. Particularly luxury brands. eBay can pull listings real quick with wording like that in the title. I know from experience.
