I do still have the one in the last picture. I forgot to add it to the box. I'll probably sell it on ebay. One dress won't be too difficult to deal with questions.

I wish they had them displayed better, and had better titles. OTOH they should still sell for good money.

I sent them pics of each dress on a mannequin. So, if the people look at all of the pics, they'll see something that shows them more of how the dress will look when worn.

Thank you for posting the results of your auction. I was glad to see the auction company shows the price realized.

I'm especially interested in your auctions because I'm helping my sister organize a houseful of antiques and vintage items, including lots of vintage clothing, for a HiBid auction, which is a first for both of us.

I sell vintage clothing on eBay, but didn't want to sell my sister's things because of the time involved and minimal expenses to offset the income. She has 1930's dresses similar to yours, so now I have some idea of what they might sell for.

They way your dresses were photographed on hangers is exactly the way my sister's auctioneer said he photographs clothing, but he won't have any individual photos like you provided your auction company.

Considering the auctioneer does most of the work for HiBid auctions, and bidders don't always get the kind photos and details they would on eBay, I think the prices realized for your dresses are reasonable. Another consideration is that most vintage clothing on eBay is sold as Buy It Now vs auction, and BIN items usually sell for more than auction items.

I would be interest to know how you feel about the results of your auction.

Most online auctions in my area expect people to come in and view the items. They don't expect a lot of shipping to be done because it's handled by a shipper and expensive. So, the pictures usually just need to get people interested.

I'm happy with what my items brought. I could have made more on ebay probably. But it would have meant a lot more work. And I've been working on these dresses and a lot of other stuff from 2 huge trunks for 2 years now. I'm tired of it all.

I'm glad to hear you are happy with the auction results...I'm sure my sister will be happy if she gets as much as you did. Her auctioneer only allows previewing by appointment, so I don't know how that will work out for potential buyers. At least he does the shipping himself, so that may help. I've only been helping with my sister's auction since May (putting my own eBay work on hold), so I can understand how tired you must be with the whole process having worked on yours for two years.

There are also people who would want to make patterns from the dresses, and document them. Given the provenance, it might bring a better price.
