Now that's old. I watched a youtuber tonight get all excited about "vintage t-shirts" from the 1990s.

 

what's old , is new again !

 

Today I went to the Ill Will and the ReStore and found a way to waste time and gasoline. The ReStore was putting out oyster forks, but all plated. They were all made for the Hartford Steam Boiler restaurant, so had trains on them. It is/was the company logo. $40 for 12. Hard pass, especially since the volunteer "lady" stocking them thinks I'm a waste of oxygen.

 

A few goodies from this week...

Sterling Deco necklace and pin with marcasites and hematite and an amber pendant, has a bug in it.


A Victorian necklace, gold filled chain with a gold pendant, hair comb and a sterling amethyst ring.

 

I'd think the sterling one is more Deco-inspired than Deco, but it has a sport/thumb ring. Those mostly vanished after WWII.

 

Ivory, very thin “waffle”, traditional support for these! Incredible bargain for that beauty!!!

 

So you are thinking maybe someone put an old sport ring on a newer necklace? Could be.

 

It does make me wonder. The necklace itself might be fooling me of course.

A pretty red Ginbari Cloisonne vase to go with my newer taller green one. The red one is simply marked silver, while the green one is marked Sato Cloisonne.

 

The people at the store continue to overlook Dona Rosa's black Mexican pottery. Luckily, they didn't notice the small chip, because they would have thrown it the trash. I can turn that side away. I am thrilled for $4

 

Speaking of which.... Scored these three, one of which is also Mexican, for... $3 the lot. The rounded-bottom vase (I don't know the name of the shape) is Mexican. The pot that could hold a flower pot is Navajo souvenir pottery. The seed pot was a (blink) really good buy. I think some of this lady's fine line pieces are in museums.

 

Especially love the Acoma pot. There's a temporary exhibit of pueblo pottery at the Met right now I'm planning on going to.

 

These I need to look up - Wedgwood impressed mark and hand-decorated. I ended up with three of them, one with hanger scrapes to the red rim. Only this one had the pattern name. I found mention that they're 1863 but have yet to look up the date mark myself. $3 each, and I'd say they made up for the total dearth of good stuff this weekend.

 

I love Acoma pieces myself, but have never known that much about them.

 

Finally, the jewelry haul from this week. Paid more than I should have, but my addiction did get the better of me and I did eat. (no snake required) The Liztech pin looks like my niece's late doggie, so that's in my sister's pile. The niece doesn't do jools. Persian story brooch, probably nickel setting. The onyx and gold necklace is already disassembled, and I've half-restrung the opalite former faux pearls. Oddly they're drilled like stone beads but the diamond tester is iffy. The second image is what my fingers have been getting up to lately.

Blackberry Czech glass, or something like that, beads. Some were broken. Glass meant to look like carnelian. The whitish ones broke when I looked at them - zero resale value because you can't sell ivory. The double-strand is entirely my own creation. All are knotted between the beads.

 

Wow. Another seller with no sense.
