I couldn't get very good shots of this little chair. Looks pretty old but reupholstered. I didn't see any screws or nails on the bottom.
It is for sale at my local thrift for $3.99 USD. any thoughts appreciated.
Better pics coming if I buy it.

Well, I'd buy it! Looks old to me. And I love the slightly disapproving little face looking over the back in photo #2. :)

Don't know that I quite like the upholstery material for that particular chair. Seems a tad girlish...

It's insipid. And something wrong with the way back upholstery was executed. Strangely flat.

I might buy it if keeping for myself. I'd figure out a way to get different upholstery. Can't beat $3.99! I do notice that the trim on the upholstery on the back is unraveling. Or maybe that is some sort of thread holding it on.

Walnut side chair ca. 1890s. As noted, the upholstery is not so good. Still, better than anything new at 10 times the price.

A very handsome chair. (And the price!) Would add character to any room.

Good price, but I’d drive that straight away to an upholstery shop. What’s on there now detracts.

Thank you all for the comments and information on this little chair! I did go back and look at it a little closer. With the splitting/cracked wood on the front legs it makes me wonder if it might break. So I passed.

That upholstery gives girls a bad name.

I think so too. I was wondering if the back of the chair used to be a flat piece of wood and someone glued the fabric in place to make it look extra pretty. That would explain the lack of padding behind it.

Thanks for the update! We couldn't see the legs in your photos, so didn't realize their condition.
