Wow this is perfect ! I sent a mail to the Fribourg Art museum as I know they have a good religious collection, but not sure it will work, but I'll send a mail to the Catharijne Convent !

Once again thank you, I'll keep you informed for sure !!!

I know some museums just don't reply, others would like to but get too many requests. The Catharijne Convent specifically states that they would like to help, and I know they do.

Went out today against my better judgment. Spent $5 at garage sales, total. Spent about $25 in the local job lot store. The good stuff came from the antique/jewelry store yesterday. I already restrung some Ivory beads and need to redo the Italian ones. The string isn't long for this world. The sterling bracelet with red glass stones came from the Sally last week. My favorite piece from the antique store is a moonglow lemon with rhinestones and no siggie. The glass pin is glass and the Japanese bracelet needs some polishing. The toothpick holder is, surprise surprise, silverplate. The best thing from today was the sticker from a Youtuber I know. Found a really good estate sale next week...for him. It has a pile of gamer stuff in the pix and that's what he's into.

Is that Japanese damascene? Those bracelets are so beautiful. How do you clean them?

I went to an indoor/outdoor show today, very few people outdoors, but I spotted a dealer I had gotten some goodies from before outside, so while everyone headed indoors, I shopped outdoors.
I bought these rings, the lot, for $165. All but one are 10k.
This is not glass or CZ...Presidium indicates white tourmaline. Sparkles like crazy, especially in the sunlight (pics indoors today.)

    This is citrine.

Thought this was glass, purple topaz.

Large stone testing as blue spinel, small stones maybe aquamarine.
    Lumii_20230729_203105945.jpg
Lastly, this one is 18k, blue spinel and diamond.

My mother's maiden name is Jewish and my dad's (aka mine) is too. The Ancestry test didn't turn up a drop of Jewish ancestry. Go figure.

I think that gem tester may need a reset. The 18k ring looks like it's set with sapphires, either natural or flux-melt.

I have to figure out where I put the test kit stuff for the Presidium. Yes, could be sapphires....but test solidly in the spinel range like the lighter blue stone ring....

Spinel apparently does come that color but I'm used to seeing it much lighter. Still, couldn't hurt to check...although apparently the dark ones are worth a bit.

Here it is at another angle...when I take it off and hold it up the the light, the stones seem lighter in color than sapphires, but I am happy either way. I really like the ring, and it fits my ring finger. Lumii_20230729_232557829.jpg

Probably synthetic spinel, if it's spinel. Lumii_20230729_233555546.jpg

Blue sapphires have a variety of colors/shades depending on the location mined, heat treatment, faceting of the stone....

Would natural sapphires flouresce under a black light? The blue stones did not, but the large light blue ring flouresced bright pink.

lol, sitting on the porch drinking my morning coffee staring at it. It was the most expensive piece of the lot, $65.

One thing about the blue stones- they sparkle and glitter like crazy.

Thanks, me either. The rings were dirty...I thought the purple ring was just glass, $15. But it tests firmly as topaz on the Presidium, and I then googled purple topaz. I think the older rings used more eclectic stones.
