I own ONE Jean Muir piece. A vintage silky knitted edge to edge cardigan in turquoise bought years ago on Ebay. Now, I own a necklace.

This was my nice sell it all for scrap man, who sold me the Georgian diamonds. He gets job lots and has an instinct. He also picks my brain - his latest find was a white gold and black diamond bracelet in a £100 lot! So he waved this under my nose as he'd never heard of Jean Muir. I expounded and drooled, he asked me what I reckoned it would sell for. I said I'd give twenty to thirty quid, we settled on thirty. I was happy, so was he, as it had been in a ten quid lot. I do not begrudge him his profit, I've had way too many cheap things from him.

    So, here it is. Hallmarked silver, rock crystal. P1220968 small.jpg P1220971 small.jpg P1220970 small.jpg P1220969 small.jpg

I knew she designed clothes but didn’t know she had a jewellery line.

I vaguely knew, but I’d never seen any. The quality is superb.

The hallmark is 1991, as I recall. On each branch too.

Whoa. Never heard of Jean Muir, her product wasn't exported this way, but rock crystal and sterling for thirty pounds sounds like a good deal.

I found a couple of similar ones which seemed to be selling for substantially more than I paid. I’d guessed thirty quid would be reasonable!

all I can find are closed auctions that you have to log into to get a Sold price or the Estimate. That is called a Good Sign!

Btw - the designer still has a website with contact info on it. I'd ask directly about how old this is and for any other information. He has a Hotmail box, which means Old Fart. Speaking as an Old Fart with a Hotmail box. https://iainyoungdesign.co.uk/history/

Wasn’t until this year I switched my most important emails to gmail. Before that it was Hotmail. Also use a yahoo for junk stuff. I tried to get into my old Juno email recently but couldn’t figure out how.

I always felt very old and out of it giving my Hotmail.

I keep my Juno box alive as a souvenir. If it's not 30 years old yet, it's pushing it.
