Well thank you sir, I am pleased you liked it. It was quite fun to make. It was in fact made out of a piece of steel from an old filing cabinet that I cut up! The second one that I made only took 70 hours! :D
It is 1/6th scale, and if I remember correctly it is a copy of a Roman Gallic type 'H' helmet.

And many of those small guns work too!

The thing with those that I mentioned on the craftsmanship museum website, is that they are all one offs, and all entirely hand crafted. One of the makers lives in China and doesn't even have access to sophisticated milling machines, lathes etc. they are absolutely hand crafted in his kitchen! Unbelievable hand workmanship of a totally unfathomable level!

    Unbelievable stuff!

My Bastille weekend finds gave me cause to celebrate. Some are going onto the resale pile, one to my collection (guess which?) and one for my silver stash.

Top to bottom: vintage Jacky de G Paris designer clip earrings, Claude Dasque sterling necklace and bracelet pair, sterling bracelet. The square pendant thingy is I think volcanic rock stuff set and on sterling, its got a mystery mark that I'll post here before going to that facebook mentioned on my last post. The celtic pendant is sterling and signed GAC. The sterling turtle bracelet is kids sized, also found a tiny and sneaky mark on it but that's mystery too. The bracelet and earring set I just posted in Jewelry, and finally a necklace marked Italy S925. Faux pearl? Probably. I spent 6.50 for everything except the bracelet/earring set which was 5.

With temperatures over 100º fahrenheit, work on phonographs in my garage must wait. I found this WWI Schoenhut toy in January of 2022, see inset. I've made the missing top parts and it's now complete.

Those look like 1930s kids' toy kits. The torpedo on the submarine definitely does; the designs didn't change much.

For 6 euros and a bit you did really well.

Fete bric a brac stall goodies. Seller gave me a price of £5 for everything which I was a bit uncomfortable about so I doubled it as it was a church fundraiser. The 9ct cross weighs in at £30 as scrap price. Hopefully the jeweller I take pieces to can re sell it.
I really liked the heavy silver rabbit spoon. Trying just to buy small items as I’m so cluttered at home but also came away with a large cane basket.

Dingdingding! I need a good church sale, but we won't have any until October. Sometimes things go for pennies, and the actual good sales are few and far between. Covid killed the best one here, held in a synagogue..darnitt.

It's too hot here for most everything...there is an estate sale near me starting Friday, but it will be crazy mobbed....not sure I can wait in line in the heat. A summer antique show is coming up the end if the month.

I know I can't. Found that out the hard way last weekend. Still paying for it and may for a while. Garage sales in July here are usually dismal, but this year it's a whole new level. You can get kid stuff, especially if you're willing/able to drive to the exurbs, but I can't hit the ones with real Stuff. (and real money)

I just called the company having the estate sale (they listed jewelry) and was told most of the jewelry "disappeared." sigh.
