Nooo! I love the black ones. You know if you snap them in a dark room they give off sparks. Back in the day when the Necco factory in Cambridge was in full swing you could smell the candy all the way across the river in Boston.

I used to walk by the factory all the time. It was in Cambridge just past MIT, not Revere.

I lived in Boston, but we were always going across the Harvard Bridge to visit friends.

    I have a stash of them. :)

@pearlsnblume I remember Chocolate Ice Cubes! They were yummy!

We always tell our gray cat that he looks like a licorice Necco Wafer.
They tasted gross, by the way.
    And yes to Chick-O-Stick!

There was also a large property in Revere. I am sure you’re correct about Cambridge but both can be true in this instance.

Sigh, I found the Big Hunk bars on Amazon and they arrived today. I'm sorry to say they are still delicious! I forgot how sticky they are, can't chew them for fear of loosing every filling.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I remember these, but don't remember loving them so much! I didn't dislike them, either. Funny how memory goes astray. I'll bet they never said "FAT FREE" on the package back in the day. Hardly anybody cared about that, then!

Just thinking about sticky Jujubes is making my fillings fall out.

But I do love me some Good & Plenty!

never a fan of Good and Plenty. I don't like black licorice at all and they just were not my cup o tea.
So many candies used to take out fillings and some still do. I ate some fruit jelly slices a few years back and took out a filling.

I did like Twizzlers (red and the chocolate)

Sorry, I appear to be a bit late to the party again. Your flower pot is indeed McCoy from the 1930's. McCoy simply called it a flower pot and saucer. It didn't have a formal pattern name and, as far as I know, there were only two pieces in this pattern with the other being a floor vase. Necco and Sand Dollar are collector designations but if you are selling it I would use both in the title. With a little luck there's a link below that will provide you a picture of the floor vase. I wasn't able to turn up a book reference for the flower pot but the floor vase is well documented. If other listings are assigning it a number it's possible there is a catalog sheet out there somewhere that I'm not aware of. I haven't seen many examples of the flower pot so it may be rarer than the floor vase. In the 1930's McCoy only used an NM (for Nelson McCoy) mark on their pottery if they used a mark at all. My floor vase is unmarked.

As for the hard water marks I've had good luck with a toilet bowl cleaner that is made to remove hard water stains. I've had bad luck with bleach but didn't know about your vinegar trick. Sometimes you can't save the saucers. There is discoloration that can set in if water sits in the saucer too long too many times. To be honest I'm not sure why McCoy even made the attached saucers. They are usually too shallow to hold much water.

For what it's worth McCoy just called it matt or matte green. It was not a consistent glaze color from piece to piece so "green" encompassed a wide variety of shades. McCoy didn't get too fancy with their color names in the 30's and just stuck to yellow, white, green, etc. in their catalog and pricing sheets although they did use coral instead of pink for some pieces.
