    As to the rooster at hand, the way the tail feathers are painted reminds me of something though I can't seem to bring it to mind.

    Well! Thank you all for sharing your nasty chicken stories! As a corollary, you have relieved my years of guilt. I always thought there was something about me that caused Icky to be such a predator.

    I guess he was just a bad egg.

    When I was 9-10 I had to hold the chickens down for my dad to chop their heads off with an axe. Then I got to pull out the pin feathers with an old strawberry huller. Kids today who think all their food comes wrapped in plastic from the supermarket have no idea.

    Ugh,we had to pluck them too after they dipped them in boiling water. I hated that with all my heart. My grandma wasnt the least bit bothered,she'd grab one and give it a whirl and break their necks. I will say,chicken certainly tasted better when you grew it yourself .
