Featured Gold, Coral, and Jade haul at flea market!

Got all of this for $70 and apparently it all came from a storage unit. Most of it appears to be vintage from the 1960s perhaps.

The first item is an 18k brooch with coral flowers from Taiwan. It's amazing piece in beautiful condition!

The second item is a 14k pendant grape with coral. The jeweler appears to be from California? The chain clasp is so odd, it's a lock and slot type security.

The third one is a 14k or 18k I am not sure jade brooch and it's pretty heavy! It just came in a white box so I have no information about it!

 

The last item is just a coral brooch with a base metal clasp!

 

The top 2 look like questionable assembly to start with or poor repairs,excess solder on most joints and solder in places where it shouldn't be.

 

I would say that's quite a haul for $70. Only 45% of the world's coral reefs remain....I think this type of coral will only increase in value. The top brooch has a ring indicating it can be worn as a pendant. Just my opinion, but I believe a moratorium on selling this type of vintage coral will eventually happen....going the way of ivory sales. I believe the only coral that will be allowed to be sold would be dead bleached coral that can be dyed.

Nice one! Mediterranean coral has been on the Endangered list for a long time and can no longer be harvsted. I agree the prices won't go anywhere but up, provided the idiots don't ban the sale or some such.
