I inherited these a few years ago (my parents lived in Korea for a while). Any information you have on their quality, when they were made (apart from the bone china which has the year of manufacture on the bottom! ;) ) would be thankfully received!

Hello, Matthew! Keep an open mind when researching these. Just because your parents lived in Korea does not mean that everything they brought back was made there. For instance, your second picture is a Kutani mark from Japan. Are there any marks on the items decorated with cranes?

Thanks for the advice: I hadn't considered it (runs off to Google 'Kutani mark'!)

On the stork one, only the bottom piece has any markings: a circle with the number 60 and a raised mark at the 'top':

Bakersgma is correct on the second one.
    It reads Kutani Tsukuru
    Translation, Kutani Made.

I love the celadon glazed Meiping vase with cranes - it does look Korean.

And thanks to you I now know what the vase is and the name of the glaze and the shape! Thanks for sharing your knowledge...

...I was stuck at 'Korean vase with cranes'!

I am not a specialist, but I have observed that it is a tradition in many Asian cultures to reproduce classic styles, sometimes over centuries.

This type of vase is also known as a maebyeong in Korea. Here is an example from the collection of the National Museum of Korea:

And here is a modern example currently available on Amazon:

Here is additional information on "celadon" glaze:

The third piece in your post can be described as a "bottle vase" (it may have been used as either a bottle, or vase, or both), and appears to be a typical Korean form. The roughness on the bottom may indicate some age, with the bottle being produced in a more rustic kiln - (compare with the clean surface of the bottom of the first vase you posted, which I suspect is a more modern piece).

The bottle vase may be the Diamond of the bunch!

I suspect the above and this one are from 1960-1975 (no mark on the base of this).

This is a very simple vase and looks quite old. 20230706_145625.jpg 20230706_145641.jpg

This is one of a matching pair of hand-painted 'mugs', both featuring a badger (it looks just like the badgers in the Korean kids story books from my childhood). Probably worth bugger all, but nice and fun, and I like the glaze (almost certainly from late 1960s to '74) 20230706_150030.jpg 20230706_150037.jpg .

Perhaps my least favourite piece, even though I like storks!

And the last one: a large plate around 45cm in diameter. 20230706_1505222.jpg 20230706_150545.jpg

You'll be pleased to hear that I don't have any more Korean pottery...

...but I do have some French, Hungarian and some odds and sods lying around for a different thread.
