Featured I Thought Glass But Maybe Not?

Hi all, I need some help with this little piece ( 2 1/4"D). I thought glass, but doing an image search it brings up Labradorite. So a piece of Labradorite set in glass?

First I tried looking up the terminology, so I'm no help! BUT it IS LOVELY, and I might agree with Komo....it looks like gold leaf above the black bottom layer with the gorgeous green & red stripes above!!!! YUMMY to me!!! NICE paperweight!!!! AND I may not have a clue as to what I'm talking about either!!!

 

Like others I don't know but sure is pretty. I see it is 2 1/4" think but how big is it? You can send it to me for further inspection

I would say art glass! Very nice.

 

Glass. Labradorite looks quite different. You can find it cut into a heart shape - I used to have one - which is probably why image search is landing there.

 

is that a mark of some sort?

SO, @cxgirl, based on what @laura9797 said about a possible dark mark down in the point of the heart, I went to play........enlarged 2X, lightened, sharpened, etc......it's maybe nothing, BUT, what I THINK may be there looks like a "large" C and inside that... a capital 'I' above a capital 'T'......definitely NOT clear.....tried to color enhance, then de-saturate somewhat.....the reflection which is worst on the left, didn't help of course! JMHO, which is not always accurate!!!
