Help to identify this antique porcelaine

I've never seen anything quite like this before. Where did you get it?
I don't believe it to be very old at all, perhaps made to appear antique.
Please wait for some other members who may know what this is - to chime in.

 

It is inherited. It is very heavy

It looks like the style of some that have been made to be decorative in the last 40 years or so, some recently.

I don't see Chinese in the OP pitcher...bwdik.

 

Looks more like earthenware than porcelain to me.

 

From the bottom it almost looks like cement.

This could be French stoneware from a town next to Saint Uze... (name escapes me sorry!) I have a soupiere in the same stuff, its been made for over 100 years and still produced ubtil recently so doesn't help with age though. If you know it to be old (remember from your childhood etc) it probably is

Yep that's the one @say_it_slowly thanks! My one is 1960s ish, broken and used as a compost bin (hence the terrible photo ; ) not certain this piece is also the same, but the printing looks similar.

I don't think the pot shown in the links is actually the same maker as OP's. Theirs is earthenware. OP's appears to have cement in it. There is an absence of wear on OP's.

 

I think the seller misnamed the materials of the listed piece - and it's hard to tell exactly what the material the OP has from the images. Unglazed stoneware in grey can look very like cement in a picture. They could tell from the hardness of it perhaps, but I personally couldn't make a call based on these images.

I am not saying this is the definitive origin of this piece btw! But if they inherited it, and know it to be of age, it might be a possibility.
