Here's a little (7 3/4" x 7 3/4") plate.I can't tell if it's 40's,50's,modern,or who the maker is-the backstamp's got me baffled. The imagery looks like a transfer, the white sgraffito lines look engraved by hand.Any ideas who & when this piece was made ? For all i know could be Target or studio done.
    As always-thanks ! Surreal1.jpg Surreal0.jpg Surreal3.jpg Surreal2.jpg

That looks right. Interesting how objects travel around the globe, isn't it? The text is, of course, a distorted C page from a dictionary. Assume it was chosen specifically. Can't read word being defined but definition "persona que hace" means "person who does [something]..." Sure artist would be happy to provide more information.

Sabre-Great job of deciphering that backstamp ! I couldn't make it out at all.I just forwarded the info to my lady. From info provided Ms.Almuelle may have relocated to Austin,TX.
Debora-How it ended up in a Thrift in Beaverton,Oregon's anyone's guess.
I also found an old French Horn there yesterday. It's made by 'Ambassador,F.E. Olds & Son,Los-Angeles,Calif.' I'm sending the instruments serial number off to some collectors.

I should add that... "persona que hace..." could also translate to "person who makes [something]..."
