Small brass shoes with stands, how old are they and what is their purpose?

    Hello! These 2D brass shoes (5.25"L x 2.9"W) were picked up at auction recently. They look on the older side, what age could they be? Also, do you think purely decorative or could they have been used in a shoe shop for example? Any and all info appreciated, thank you!

    They almost look like a printing plate. Those legs are rather crude when the shoes arent . Fun pieces.

    After a bit of digging, I found some listings of similar (but not quite the same!) that say they are trench art from WW1, often seen on fireplaces during and after the war. I do have a few other pieces of trench art and perhaps these are from shells?
