    @daveydempsey -

    I don't know much about furniture but I am pretty certain the "white" table & chairs did not start out life together. ;):playful::playful: :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

    The wardrobe is gorgeous!! :happy::happy:

    Someone painted them to make a marriage. I suppose it mostly beats having them land in the tip.

    Interesting, I'd have thought contemporary makers would want to advertise their marks online so people know who they are and where to come back to. Thank you!

    Oh awesome thank you very much! I'll have to check it out. :D

    Someone should have taken the paint away from those people ! I wonder if those chairs are the real deal or copies ?!?

    I was horrified enough at the barley twist legs? on the table but when I saw the ball & claw feet on the chairs my eyes about rolled out of my head. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

    As long as they were 1920s factory copies, we can forgive the painters.

    This is my favorite piece. The desk item- crafts people here love to repurpose old drawers. They use that chalk? paint, that paint that gives a distressed look. We have entire stores with old furniture done in this paint. They do a fabulous job. They also change the hardware, lots of time they use crystal knobs. Some of the paint had a sparkle effect. If I see just the right piece, I will buy it. I am still kicking myself for not buying a small table with a Ouiji board decoration on top. But I wouldn't touch that wardrobe, it's stunning.

    Davey, do they do these restorations much across the pond or do they let older pieces be?

    The furniture I like has a more speckled look....
    And this is the type of table that was done in black speckled distressed paint with the ouiji board motif on top that I regret not buying. But I have a similar one upstairs I could have done.

    Well, picked just a few items up at a thrift shop near the kitties. I finally found it, they moved upstairs. $4 each, posting one on the jewelry board with questions.
    This one is a double strand of FW pearls, onyx, smokey quartz, and rose quartz, sterling findings. The second one is FW pearls, carnelian, and mystery stones.

    And...these two finds are home. Long story- Louie was a lot sicker than the shelter let on- they didn't tell us he had surgery for corneal ulcers. He has a viral and bacterial infection. He has dry eye that will need daily eye drops for life. I took the to MY vet. The vet is hoping his swollen belly is only due to not being fully dewormed, not FIP. Charlotte is being treated for the infections, but is in a lot better shape than Louie. The vet warned me this was going to be an expensive ride...they have to be checked weekly. But I think God sent them to us because he knew we would take care of them. Since I am retired as of July 1, it's time to start selling anyway. Took two trash bags of vintage accessories to the consignment shop this week.
    Louie is in the background, Charlotte, foreground. Sorry for the long post.

    Marko, glad you got the kitties, but sorry you were mislead about their health.
    My friend recently adopted a cat and the health issues were not properly disclosed.
    Enjoy your new furballs.

    My late kitty Genie came with some sort of infection too. It think her immune system was messed up and she was older than advertised. Glad your babies are getting good care early on.

    Marko I learned when we adopt it is they who choose us, although you may have seen pictures. They knew you would provide for them in the way they need to be cared for. We still have not adopted yet, seeing yours I need to go prod the husband again. Longest I have been without one. Wishing all of you nothing but the furry best.

    @Marko,
    Sorry I have not replied, I've been really busy.
    Yes restorations are done on things but some things are left alone, however one does not know what happens to things that are left alone when sold on.
    Any restorations I do are minor and on items I keep.
    Most of the stuff I get are sold to the trade.
