komokwa The Truth is out there...!

there are many silver items marked on the face of the item, and not on the backside.......

Yes; the only difference is the silver mark. Otherwise front and back are identical.

21th century silver tourist souvenir, as fresh as my cookie just cooked last night. I believe it is less than 3 or 5 years old.

Of course it is solid silver

A local antique dealer who loves silver liked it just fine, even if it was brand new. Thought it was plated when I bought it.

Your comb is actually made in Yunnan Province, China. It is a ethnic handicrafts by Bai People (who has over 1000 years history of hand craft silverware skill)(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bai_people)

Yeah. very cool. Even it is a souvenir in Yun nan Province in China, it is not handmade in Yun nan. However, it is machine made in Shenzhen, China.

Souvenirs are rarely made in the place they're sold in. Tourists buy the dream, wherever it was made.
Most Dutch spuvenir spoons are made in Germany, and those kissing 'Dutch' boy and girl sets are usually made in Japan, Taiwan or China.;)

I can testify to that. I've found many a "Dutch" boy and girl, most of whom only saw the Netherlands in a picture book.
