    Beautiful-I love the Meiji pieces that exhibit an Aesthetic Movement vibe.

    Thank you. I'm quite fond of it, too. Do you know, if I understand correctly, that's the signature of the artist on the bottom?

    Meiji was a period in Japan history (thanks Wiki)-'The Meiji Period extended from October 23, 1868 to July 30, 1912.The period corresponded to the reign of Emperor Meiji. It was preceded by the Keiō era and was succeeded by the Taishō era, upon the accession of Emperor Taishō.'
    Antiques made during this period we call Meiji,like we call some antiques 'Victorian',roughly corresponding to the reign of Queen Victoria.
