Sterling silver powder compact with British inspired makers mark:

    Crown - stylized “B” - Lion

All 3 marks are inside a single cartouche resembling the Chevrolet logo.

I checked my usual silver mark resources and no luck. I also checked the Sheffield assay date marks for the style of B just to rule out the slim possibility of it being British with non-standardized marks.

    I’m guessing 1920-1930’s 1E8DB733-CE15-4422-9DAF-C5359E5C9A9E.jpeg 2CB0FAEA-4160-495F-AB53-F578FD0D4B1B.jpeg 6A5069DD-EA78-473E-BA9E-A198CB82057C.jpeg BD8B03FA-C2EA-4B75-971E-A5E149D3BBC9.jpeg

Sorry, but this is not a British mark. Much more likely to be either USA or Canadian with the word Sterling. Unfortunately I have not found it yet either, but will keep looking.

This is from Rainwater's. Do you think it could be Watson?

See edit below to change to Watson and Briggs.

Correct, it is British inspired (meant to look like the British marks)

Watson and Briggs? Listed just before the more lengthy Watson entry.

I'll amend that a little. The mark shown is at the top of the page and the way the pages are laid out I think it goes with the preceding company of Watson & Briggs.

Wait a second……”Successor to The Thomae Co” ….Hmmm

I happen to have a piece by Charles Thomae, who made pieces for both Tiffany & Cartier prior to the collaborative company The Thomae Co, which (now I find) included Briggs, Briggs and Watson as company officers. The mark shown (for Charles Thomae) on my trinket box was used from 1921 until 1931 when….. Watson & Briggs Co was incorporated

Funny, how I have 2 items in my possession at the same time with connected histories that date to 90-100+ years ago

This same identical trinket box was also made for Tiffany, the only difference was the Tiffany signature in addition to the Charles Thomae sig shown on mine
