Featured Lg art glass vase SIGNED 85... sig? Description help, too.

Do I call this "cased?" It seems to have a layering.

Most of all, any help with the signature? Thanks!

Here are a few more photos. Wondering if I should continue to try to find the maker. This is a very substantial piece in weight, would you say it's well done? It has a rough pontil on the base, so was hand done.



I wasn't sure how they even made it. This pattern seems to be layers on top of layers.







Smooth to the touch, this striped pattern is inside the glass somehow.

I was about to go to bed, but now I can't stop trying to parse this signature.

I'm struggling though. It's *just* ambiguous enough that I can't quite make it out into any kind of name google recognizes.

My best (if not only) guess would be perhaps it's german. studio pottery from the 80s, pretty cool modern look.

I read is as P. Beauford 85.

 

'studio glass' doesn't really have the same ring to it. won't make that mistake again !

 

Thank everyone for taking a look. I was sure we'd get the signature on this! I'm not giving up yet. I did put it on a glass ID FB page, but no one has responded. A neighbor does scientific glass blowing and guessed that the vase was not an easy piece to make, so got to think this wasn't an amateur, but who knows. The mystery continues...

 

I thought the same, which adds to the wow factor.

 

Studio glass sounds fine to me. Another possibility is art glass (in the title).

 

Surnames I've searched, assuming given name first initial is P.

Senglena
Sensena
Sengena
Senlena

And some of the above without an "a" at the end.

Some hits came up for Sengen glass, but it was not art glass like this. Seemed to be whiskey glasses, and Japanese.
