Featured Porcelain Bowl - Japan? Age?

    Here's a something I found yesterday on a quick stop at the Goodwill. Its about 7 inches (17cm) in diameter and 4.5 (11cm) inches high. The decoration is mainly on the inside, and I think the scenery depicted is maybe typically Chinese, but I get a Japanese feel from the rest of the construction and colors. Maybe late 19th or early 20th? Newer?

    Really lovely decoration. The characters have a famille rose look about them whereas the bold red colouring has an imari feel.

    Agree - a meeting of the styles - I'm sure this is export ware made in Japan, but definitely pretty and interesting enough to pick up for a few bucks!
