This was sold partially filled with marbles recently. Went cheap so I took a gamble without seeing it in person. Appears to be hand blown with some age, not sure how much. I figured it was novelty junk when I was bidding. I don’t really know much about dating clear glass that doesn’t conform to an obvious period/style. Is this anything or just a decor/novelty piece? FYI those aren’t the marbles in question. Just the closest ones at hand when taking photos. How grey is the glass?

The style is of a Victorian rummer from around 1870, but scaled up a lot. The Victorians did make a lot of novelty items so it could be of period. Very hard to say without seeing it in the flesh though.

What's going on here? Mold lines or maybe just an illusion?

Boy, it would be great for when you have a really bad day at work

I have a similar size saucer champaign glass. I fill it with cranberries at Christmas, nestle a small glass bowl with water inside and put holly in the bowl. Makes a great Christmas decoration!

I would say not very if at all.

I thought it was a ground down pontil mark not mold lines. I don’t see any mold lines.

Reflections etc in photos can make it look like something is there when there's nothing at all. These were the little areas I was curious about but if you don't see them in-hand, they're probably just reflections or something.
