A friend asked me to help date this ring.
It was from a UK seller.
    She is wondering about age.
There are no marks, but it was sold as 18k, and ruby.

Can anyone give us some feedback?

I would place this one as Victorian, 1860 or so. One of the prongs is missing from the main stone which will need attending to if they plan on wearing it.

Thanks for your reply! She fully plans to wear it, and will take it to her local jeweler.

Pretty generic. We see similar here in the Netherlands, Belgium, but also in the UK. I wouldn't be surprised if they made a similar style in the cities of Russia. So general European or European-influenced like the US,

I’d agree on mid nineteenth, the stones look that sort of date. Pretty thing.

@stracci, didn't you get a high powered loupe??? I could be wrong.....at any rate, in the fourth image down, I took and enlarged it.....sharpened & tried enhancing it....to ME, I think I see, on the side you have posted, a fair amount of writing in a couple of places.....up to you if you want to check them out......& it just dawned on me, HAHA, I didn't mark them.....be back in a few.......there might be more, especially in that large "gold" area under the stones, but don't want to drive you batty!:happy: Sorry!!!

Looks more like poor repairs and solder flow.
