Age & Origin of this Old Silk Rug.

    Can someone please help ID the possible age and origin of this old rug.

    I think the material is silk(?). Persian(?)

    Size approx: 5 ft.

    Rayon, viscose or acetate, with a cotton warp. Machine-woven, notice the fringe is applied, not merely the warp threads. Most likely from somewhere in the region of, say, Bulgaria, which has a tradition of "Oriental" coverings and hangings like this.
